Who we are

We are proudly a volunteer fundraising group who are dedicated to improving the lives of critically ill children..

All twelve members of the Sydney Kids Committee are volunteers and we come with a wide range of experience from many industries. Some of the committee have close links with the hospital but the majority of members have no association with the health industry and give their time because they want to contribute to a very worthy cause. Our diverse vocational experiences enable us to work collaboratively and effectively to achieving our goals. Over the years, members have included doctors, nurses, solicitors, accountants, teachers, students, small business owners and young entrepreneurs.

The committee is always actively seeking new members and we encourage anyone who is passionate about supporting the hospital and is able to help contribute to the cause to contact us.

Almost half the Committee members are now approaching ten years of service. We encourage new enthusiastic and proactive members to join the Sydney Kids Committee to ensure we maintain a balance between experienced members and new members who bring fresh ideas to our efforts.

The committee has been fortunate to always have a dedicated patron.  Our current patron is radio presenter and television personality Amanda Keller who has been involved with the committee since 2005. Prior to this our first and long standing patron of twelve years was Mike Whitney, ex Australian cricketer and television presenter.

Our members are altruistic and give of their time freely. The committee is passionate about their fundraising activities and many lasting friendships have developed as a result of their shared experiences and undertakings. More importantly, the committee as individuals enjoy making a commitment to fundraising and receive great satisfaction from seeing the results of their efforts.

The committee aim to make their events as enjoyable as possible for their guests.  The fact that a large proportion of our guests continue to attend the committee’s functions year after year is testament to this.
